The verdict

Pick Coachplan if price decides it: it is cheaper at every roster size ($39 against $129 at 10 clients, $110 against $529 at 50), it stays cheaper after its 1.5% payment fee, and it adds AI drafts and extra coach logins. Pick Coachway if your clients want a real App Store app in their own language, log food by barcode or photo and sync steps, or if you take payments through your own Stripe and want no platform fee on them.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Coachway or Coachplan cheaper?

Coachplan, at every roster size: $29 against $79 for 5 clients, $39 against $129 at 10, $69 against $379 at 35 and $110 against $1,029 at 100. Its 1.5% payment fee does not change that: 20 clients paying $150 a month cost about $236 all-in on Coachplan (subscription plus its published 5.35% + $0.30 US rate) against about $322 on Coachway with your own Stripe.

How much do Coachway and Coachplan take from client payments?

Coachplan takes 1.5% of every payment on top of Stripe and publishes the all-in totals: typically 5.35% + $0.30 on a US subscription and 3.95% + €0.25 on an EU one. Coachway takes nothing if clients pay through your own Stripe checkout; its built-in payments for subscriptions, invoices and payment plans add 2.4% on top of Stripe.

Which has the better client app?

Coachway. Its client app is in the App Store (iPhone) and Google Play in six languages, logs food by barcode and photo, and syncs steps and Apple Health. Coachplan’s app is installed from the browser to the home screen, runs in Danish or English, and has no wearable or food-diary integrations. Both carry your logo and colours on every plan.

Does either one have AI tools?

Coachplan does, on every plan: it drafts programs, the next training block, meal plans, recipes and courses for you to approve. Coachway has no AI tools. Read the Coachplan review and the Coachway review.

Are they both new?

Yes. Coachway, from Copenhagen, went live in December 2025 and has 25 Trustpilot reviews. Coachplan, from Aarhus, was set up in 2024 and has no third-party reviews yet. Both are small Danish teams; for a longer track record see best personal trainer software.
