The verdict

Pick TrueCoach if price decides it: its subscription is lower at every roster size up to 50 clients ($69.98 against $229 at 20), and it stays cheaper even after its 5% payment fee. Pick Coachway if you coach nutrition as much as training and want meal plans, recipes and food logging built in, your clients want the app in a Nordic language or German, or you want client payments through your own Stripe with no platform fee.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Coachway or TrueCoach cheaper?

TrueCoach, at every roster size up to 50 clients: $29.98 against $79 for 5 clients, $69.98 against $229 at 20 and $164.98 against $529 at 50. Coachway adds $10 for every client past the fifth; TrueCoach moves up a plan at 6 and 21 clients and quotes above 50. Even with TrueCoach’s 5% payment fee, 20 clients paying $150 a month cost about $220 all-in on TrueCoach against about $322 on Coachway with your own Stripe.

How much do Coachway and TrueCoach take from client payments?

TrueCoach Payments charges a flat 5% of every card payment, refunds included, plus $15 per chargeback: $150 on $3,000 a month. Coachway takes nothing if clients pay through your own Stripe checkout, where you pay Stripe’s standard fees (about $93 on the same $3,000 from 20 clients). Its built-in payments for subscriptions, invoices and payment plans add 2.4% on top of Stripe.

Which is better for nutrition coaching?

Coachway. Every plan includes a meal planner with 1,100+ recipes and food logging by barcode and photo. TrueCoach tracks nutrition through its MyFitnessPal connection on every plan, with advanced habit and nutrition tools on Standard and Pro. See the Coachway review.

Which is easier to use?

TrueCoach, narrowly: 8.7 for ease of use in our scoring against 8.4. Both are deliberately simple and neither has AI tools. Coachway’s coach dashboard is English-only and, per Capterra reviewers, its coach mobile app cannot reply to check-ins. Read the TrueCoach review.
