Gym Payment Processing Fee Calculator: Card Fees on 39 Platforms (2026)
Enter what your members pay you each month to see the card fees on 39 gym, studio and personal trainer platforms, at the rate each one publishes, and which platforms do not publish a rate at all. Rates verified November 2026.
For most gyms the card fees are a bigger monthly bill than the software. At $10,000 a month in $100 memberships, the standard 2.9% + $0.30 comes to $320 a month, or $3,840 a year. This calculator applies the card rate of 30 gym and studio platforms and 9 personal trainer platforms to your own numbers. Only 10 of them publish a rate of their own, 11 pass through their processor’s standard rate with no markup stated, and 18 do not publish a rate at all.

US dollars, 30 platforms. Card payments only: excludes bank transfers (ACH), international cards, currency conversion, chargebacks and the software subscription. Rates verified November 2026; see each review for the source.
How the calculator works
- Card fees: your monthly card volume × the platform’s percentage, plus its fixed fee on each payment. The number of payments is your volume divided by your average payment, so smaller payments mean more fixed fees.
- Publishes its own rate: the rate printed on the vendor’s pricing or payments page, checked in November 2026. Where a vendor publishes more than one rate, each gets its own row: PushPress by plan, Coachway by checkout.
- Standard processor rate: the platform takes payments through Stripe or a similar processor and states no markup of its own, so it is shown at 2.9% + $0.30, the standard US online card rate.
- Rate not published: RhinoFit, Gymdesk, TeamUp, GymMaster, Jackrabbit Dance, Wodify, Zen Planner, WellnessLiving, Walla, CourtReserve, The Studio Director, Exercise.com, iClassPro, Rock Gym Pro, Pike13, Wellyx, Glofox and Mindbody do not publish their card rate. They are shown at the rate in their review, which is the standard 2.9% + $0.30 except Wodify (2.7% + $0.30, the top of what third parties report), and marked “Not published”. Ask each one for its rate in writing.
- Vagaro and Amilia: Vagaro publishes only an in-person rate (2.6% + $0.10), so card-on-file memberships are modeled at 2.9% + $0.30; Amilia’s 1% service fee on each invoice is added to its 2.85% + $0.30.
- Not included: bank transfers (ACH), international cards, currency conversion, chargebacks, refunds and payout fees. MyStudio (1%) and Fitli (1.9% + $0.30) publish an ACH rate, which can cut the bill for members who pay by bank.
What the published rates say
At $10,000 a month in $100 payments, Virtuagym (2.75% + $0.20) is the lowest published rate, about $300 a year below the standard, and PushPress’s paid plans sit just under the standard too. MyStudio, Fitli and Mariana Tek publish the standard itself. The rest cost more: SwimTopia (3.4% + $0.30) about $600 a year, Amilia with its service fee about $1,140, TrueCoach’s flat 5% about $2,160, and Coachway’s built-in payments (Stripe plus 2.4%) about $2,880. On Coachway, your own Stripe checkout avoids that 2.4%.
PushPress sells the card rate with the plan. Core Free has no subscription but charges 4.99% + $0.30, about $2,508 a year more than the standard at this volume, while Core Max ($229/mo) brings it down to 2.75% + $0.30. Core Pro ($159/mo at 2.89%) becomes the cheaper plan once you collect about $7,571 a month. Core Max saves $14 a month on card fees against Core Pro at $10,000, less than the $70 it costs, so it only pays for its card rate at about $50,000 a month.
18 platforms do not publish a card rate
That includes some of the biggest names, such as Mindbody, Glofox, WellnessLiving, Zen Planner and Wodify. Every 0.1 point on $10,000 a month is $120 a year, so ask for the card and ACH rate, the fixed fee per payment and any monthly gateway fee in writing before you sign.
To add the software subscription to the card fees, use our gym software cost calculator. The card rate each vendor publishes, with its source, is also in the fitness software pricing report and its free dataset.

Frequently asked questions
How much are card processing fees for a gym?
At the standard US online rate of 2.9% + $0.30, a gym collecting $10,000 a month in $100 memberships pays $320 a month, $3,840 a year. The rate your platform charges can move that up or down by hundreds of dollars a year; enter your own numbers above.
Which gym software has the lowest card fees?
Among published rates, Virtuagym at 2.75% + $0.20 is the lowest, followed by PushPress Core Max at 2.75% + $0.30 (on its $229 plan). 11 platforms pass through the standard 2.9% + $0.30 with no markup stated, and 18 do not publish a rate, so ask them before you compare.
How are card processing fees calculated?
Monthly card volume × the percentage rate, plus the fixed fee × the number of payments. $10,000 collected in 100 payments of $100 at 2.9% + $0.30 is $290 + $30 = $320.
Do members pay the card fee instead of the gym?
Some platforms let you pass a fee to members. Walla’s optional Walla Offset, for example, charges your clients 3.9% at checkout. Check the card-surcharging rules in your state and the card networks’ rules before you turn it on.
